Grundy County Winter Shelter Community Support Survey

Grundy Area PADS is collecting community input as we explore options for a future winter shelter to support residents experiencing homelessness. At this time, the City of Morris does not have a zoning ordinance that covers community sheltering, so a zoning variance would be required for a permanent winter shelter plan. Before submitting that request for the 2026–2027 season, we want to understand the level of community support and gather your perspective.

Nearby communities like Ottawa and Joliet offer shelter services but often reach capacity during cold weather, highlighting the need to evaluate local options for Grundy County residents. Your feedback will help guide our next steps and shape how we present a potential plan to the City Council.

An email address is required so we can confirm each survey is submitted by a unique Grundy County participant and maintain the integrity of the results. Your email will remain confidential and accessible only to the person(s) managing the survey results. Responses are reviewed for accuracy, and we ask that each person complete the survey only once. If any response contains threatening or harmful language, appropriate action will be taken.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts and support thoughtful planning for our community.
